SGC ARCHITECTURAL GLASS – PRODUCT COMPLIANCE
Float Glass supplied by SGC meets the requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) C 1036
Standard Specification for Flat Glass type I, quality Q3 requirements.
SGC HEAT-TREATED GLASS
SGC Heat-treated glass products are fabricated in accordance with ASTM C1048 Standard Specification for Heat-Treated Flat Glass – Kind HS, Kind FT Coated and Uncoated.
Fully tempered glass meets the requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z97.1 – 2004 American National Standard for Safety Glazing Materials Used in Buildings – Safety Performance Specifications Method of Test, and Federal Safety Standard 16 CFR 1201 Safety Standard for Architectural Glazing Materials. Fully tempered glass is safety glazing product with a minimum surface compression of 95Mpa.
Heat –strengthened glass is not a safety glazing product, the surface compression is between 24 -69Mpa.
Heat –soak treated fully tempered glass has a much less spontaneous breakage that normal fully tempered glass. It conforms to DIN18516 Standard Specification for heat soaked tempered glass.
Through participation in the Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC), SGC certifies fully tempered glass as safety glazing materials and labels the glass accordingly.
SGC INSULATING GLASS UNITS
SGC dual-sealed insulating glass units conform to ASTM E2188 and ASTM E 2190. All the insulated glass products also
meet the requirements of ASTM E774-97 Standard Specification of Sealed Insulating Glass Units and ASTM E773-97
Standard Test for Seal Durability of Sealed Insulating Glass Units. The standards of ASTM E2188 and E2190 replaced
the ASTM E773 and E774 in 2005.
Through participation in the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC), SGC certifies dual-sealed insulating glass units
and each IGU is permanently marked accordingly.
SGC LAMINATED GLASS
SGC fabricates safety laminated glass in accordance with American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) C1172
Standard Specification for Laminated Architectural Flat Glass. SGC laminated glass meets the requirements of the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z97.1 – 2004 American National Standard for Safety Glazing Materials
Used in Buildings – Safety Performance Specifications Method of Test, and Federal Safety Standard 16 CFR 1201 CAT.II
Safety Standard for Architectural Glazing Materials. Through participation in the Safety Glazing Certification Council
(SGCC), SGC certifies the laminated glass as safety glazing materials and labels the glass accordingly.
Blast resistance and Hurricane resistance glass are specialty laminated glass products and certified or tested
independently, the certificates will be provided when required.
SGC SOLAR-CONTROL COATED GLASS
LOW-EMISSIVITY AND MULTI-FUNCTION COATED GLASS
SGC fabricates Solar-Control, Low-E and multi-function coated glass products in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) C 1376 Standard Specification for Pyrolytic and Vacuum Deposition Coatings on Glass.
